Your Resume Bespeak of You
Gone are the days when people submit their resumes personally to companies or snail mail them. Nowadays, a lot of companies are accepting resumes via emails. A lot of companies looking to outsource do also check the resume post section of job sites like Craigslist, Yahoo, Monster and a lot of other job sites for potential candidates to contact, this gives job seekers a greater chance of exposure.
There are however certain protocol to follow when posting your resume, so please be guided accordingly.
1. Please do not capitalize or bold all words and letters in your resume and cover letter. I have came across several resumes in this form which is very irritating to the eyes and irritating to read too. It also denotes a disrespectful and obnoxious personality. In the virtual world, capitalizing or bolding all words is akin to shouting, so make note of this.
2. Please post your resume in the appropriate place. There is always a section for resume posting. Do not post your resume in pages for job posting. For sure, it will be harder for companies to find your resume. Besides, posting your resumes in inappropriate places bespeak of your character like unable to follow rules and instructions. How will you be a trusted and efficient virtual worker if you cannot abide by site’s simple rules and regulations? If I were a company looking for a virtual employee, for sure I will not consider you.
3. Make sure your resume is original. The reason why I am stating this is because I have found some people copying my resume. I am not saying that I have a brilliant resume, but while browsing through Craigslist Philippines resumes, I found several person’s resume much like my own, and note my resume was posted way earlier than theirs.
It is very important to create a professional and dignified online presence, and having a professional and dignified resume is a start of showing off your virtual character.
About
Hi, I’m a work at home mom. I can’t begin to tell you how exciting these past 4 years have been. I have been busy taking care of my two boys, working for different companies and individuals, not to mention being a supportive wife to my handsome husband
.
I have always loved reading and writing, thus a blog is a great way for me to put my thoughts in writing, not to mention it provides a channel for me to voice out my frustrations and observations.
Most specially I can be ME in my blog and say anything I feel and think without any restrictions from normal norms. But what I specially like about having a blog is I am able to lambaste my Virtual Clients or appreciate them ( hey, we all need an outlet for our frustrations ) and share my humbling experiences to my fellow home based and virtual workers
